Dear reader,

I started writing down some of my thoughts in the middle of a worldwide pandemic that by April 2020 had reached almost every corner of the globe. I had quite the time to think and rethink, and like it usually happens with thinkers, eventually, they end up with something. In my case, it was creating a History blog where I could keep and share some of my observations with my students, friends, family, and strangers.

Going further back in time, I started studying Egyptology more than a decade ago, and believe me, I have wholeheartedly enjoyed every second of my studies. In fact, I was so drawn into the matter that back then, I hardly ever did anything else rather than just read, read, and then read some more. Since obviously this wasn’t enough, I decided to study more and that resulted in an MA in Contemporary History. And voilĂ .

Well, I guess here we are – not much of a patch to mend the last ten years with, but let me say that ever since the long-gone year of 2009, I have been involved in one way or another in examining the past and its many wonders. I do believe that “life can be understood only backwards” and like the two-faced Roman God Janus, one part of me will always gaze at the vastness of the past.

Thank you, reader.

For your sake, I will do my best to keep my posts simple, short and understandable.

Sincerely,

Mila.
